Visual Ethos.
Dynamic application of branding.
The application of branding within the automotive industry and especially in terms of motorsport must be dynamic and flow over the various forms that it will feature on. This is due to the commercial impacts within this field that even if one item doesn’t meet the financial contract that is in place with the team and sponsors it will cause friction. How the visual language streams from each outlet must have the same cohesive voice. As a designer I aim to create a branding form that is dynamic over all applications whether digitally or physical and in motion or static.
High impact design.
Designs in this field need to have a high impact and striking design. Therefore, this makes them stand out not only against other cars within the race but in the environment itself. The way the design works is to be eye-catching and this won’t be effective if the design fades into the background of the race or blends into the setting it is viewed in. Furthermore, the high impact of the design must remain in tone with the visual language of the team and sponsors. This will then help the sponsors achieve their aim of attracting consumers and the team with attracting more technical commercial partners.
Creating strong brand relationships.
Motorsport is all about building and developing strong brand relationships. It is key to remember the arrangement and nature of these contacts. A technical partnership focuses more on the technological side of the team. You couldn’t place or seek out a relationship with two brands that provide the same product for the one client. An example of this is an oil company such as Ravenol. In contrast you have more commercial partners that are focusing mainly on the promotion of their brand and product. An instance of this is such brands as Monster, they have no impact on the development of technologies within the industry. Both are very important to the team for both development of the performance aspect of the car and having financial backing and forming these relationships is essential to progress.
Complexity made simple.
The idea of placing a collective of various brandmarks onto a car a difficult task with pleasing every different company. However, I use a systematic approach to working through a series of complex and complicated problems. The result from this approach means that every brand involved gets the result they desire while the overall design works as a collective piece. This is crucial in having a result that is eye-catching to the general public while it remains legible at speed and through different medias the branding will be viewed through.
* After this period clients will be charged 12.5% interest of the total of the invoice. For example, £100.00 due on invoice will be charged a £12.50 late fee. Each week an additional 12.5% interest of the starting invoice will be added onto the invoice. For example, an invoice of £100.00 that is 2 weeks late will total at £125.00, 3 weeks late will total at £137.50.
